Job Description

The Role: As a Dialysis Nurse, you will provide specialized care for patients undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Hemodialysis (HD). You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering high-quality care to patients with kidney-related health issues, ensuring they receive appropriate treatments and support during their dialysis sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Hemodialysis (HD) treatments according to established protocols and guidelines.

  • Monitor and assess patients during dialysis sessions, identifying any complications or issues and responding quickly to ensure patient safety.

  • Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, lifestyle adjustments, and managing kidney health.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment data, vital signs, and any adverse reactions or changes in condition.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for dialysis patients.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and best practices to maintain a safe, sterile environment during treatments.

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current certification.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Hemodialysis (HD).

  • Knowledge and experience in managing dialysis access sites, complications, and troubleshooting dialysis machines.

  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions during dialysis procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams effectively.

  • Ability to provide compassionate care, demonstrating empathy for patients undergoing chronic treatment regimens.

  • Fluent in English and French.
