Houseman (Bellhop)

Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 3pm-11pm, Friday&Saturday 8am-4pm

Position Summary

Coryer Staffing is seeking a dependable, service-focused Houseman to support guest services and housekeeping operations. This role helps create a welcoming, clean, and efficient hotel environment by assisting guests with luggage and requests, maintaining public areas, transporting supplies, and supporting room attendants. The ideal candidate is courteous, proactive, physically capable, and committed to Hampton Inn’s standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, professional assistance upon arrival and departure.
• Assist guests with luggage, room directions, transportation information, and delivery of requested items.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and presentable lobbies, hallways, elevators, entrances, public restrooms, and other common areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, clean windows, and remove trash as assigned.
• Shovel snow and clear pathways, entrances, and other designated exterior areas to help maintain safe guest and employee access.
• Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and recycling from guest floors and housekeeping carts.
• Stock and organize linen closets, housekeeping carts, guest amenities, and cleaning supplies.
• Deliver clean linens, supplies, rollaway beds, cribs, towels, pillows, and other requested items to guestrooms or room attendants.
• Assist room attendants with moving furniture, flipping mattresses, and completing deep-cleaning projects.
• Monitor public areas and promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damage, or suspicious activity.
• Follow hotel procedures for key control, guest privacy, security, lost-and-found items, and chemical handling.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and concerns, escalating issues to a supervisor when necessary.
• Support other hotel departments and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel, housekeeping, bell service, janitorial, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer-service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, pull, and climb stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely maneuver loaded luggage and housekeeping carts.
• Ability to work around cleaning products and in varying indoor or outdoor conditions.
