Job Description

We are helping our client, an established custom spice blending company, hire a Spice Mixer to work the morning shift (7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) for their facility in North York.

The Spice Mixer meticulously blends and tests spices to achieve desired flavors. Responsibilities include assuring quality control standards, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring consistency in every batch.

We are currently hiring for the following shift schedule:

  • 7 a.m. -4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Friday (paid until 2 p.m.) – No weekends!

The starting wage is $22/hr. - if interested, please apply today!

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and mix spices according to recipes.
  • Operate spice mixing machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure that the spices are accurately weighed and labeled.
  • Monitor the quality of the spices being mixed.
  • Clean and maintain the spice mixing area and equipment.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures while working.
  • Record and maintain production data and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production targets.
  • Operating a forklift as requested. 

Qualifications

  • Experience in spice mixing or related fields.
  • Valid forklift license
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of different spices and their uses.
  • Ability to measure and mix spices accurately.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy bags of spices – up to 45 lbs.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in food handling and processing

Physical Demands & PPE

• CSA-approved safety shoes/boots. • Hair net and/or beard net (if required) – employer-provided. • Work uniform to go over clothes – employer provided. • Gloves – employer provided.
