The Role: As a Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg, ER, Operating Room (OR), and Obstetrics (OBS) units, you will deliver compassionate and comprehensive patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with acute medical conditions as well as those requiring obstetric or surgical care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct rapid assessments to determine the urgency and severity of injuries or illnesses in emergency, obstetric, and surgical settings.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Monitor and document vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic tests with meticulous attention to detail.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients across Med/Surg, ER, OR, and OBS.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
Maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff, following infection control standards and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in ER, Med/Surg, OR, and Obstetric settings.
BLS, ACLS, NRP, CTAS, and PALS certifications are required.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
