Property Management Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time, with a 30-minute break

Salary: $1,300 per month

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Management Accountant with hands-on experience using AppFolio, strong accounting skills, and a solid understanding of property management operations. This role will support day-to-day financial activities related to residential and/or commercial properties and collaborate closely with the property management team. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Process owner distributions, tenant payments, and vendor payments

• Perform bank reconciliations and monthly financial close

• Prepare and review financial statements and property-level reports

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Assist with year-end reporting and audit preparation

• Coordinate with property managers regarding financial issues

• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting

Qualifications:

• Proven experience using AppFolio

• Background in accounting with exposure to property management

• Strong understanding of property management accounting processes

• Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations

• Ability to manage multiple properties and financial records accurately

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with U.S.-based property management operations

• Familiarity with real estate accounting standards

• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required
