The Role: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Residential Care, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. Your focus will be on ensuring residents' well-being, dignity, and independence while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal care outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, wound care, and monitoring residents’ health status.
Oversee and support care delivery by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and other care team members, ensuring adherence to care standards.
Respond to acute changes in residents’ health and coordinate timely interventions with appropriate healthcare professionals.
Document assessments, interventions, and care outcomes accurately and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Foster a safe, compassionate, and inclusive environment that addresses residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs.
Requirements:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse in your province or territory.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Canada in residential care, long-term care, or geriatrics is strongly preferred.
Strong clinical skills, including chronic disease management, medication administration, and palliative care principles.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with residents, families, and team members.
Ability to adapt to residents’ changing needs, prioritize care, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
