Overview

The Executive Vice President is a senior executive responsible for leading major organizational divisions, shaping company strategy, and ensuring optimal execution across business units. The EVP acts as a key advisor to the CEO and plays a central role in long-term planning, financial health, operational excellence, and cross-functional leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CEO and board to define strategic priorities

  • Lead organizational initiatives that drive revenue, efficiency, and innovation

  • Translate high-level strategy into actionable plans for all departments

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day performance of major business units

  • Ensure alignment across Product, Operations, Sales, HR, and Finance

  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Drive continuous improvement across teams and systems

Financial Management

  • Oversee enterprise budgeting and forecasting

  • Evaluate financial performance and resource allocation

  • Approve major capital expenditures

  • Support M&A analysis, due diligence, and integration

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor senior leaders, including VPs and Directors

  • Establish organizational culture and values in partnership with HR

  • Build high-performing leadership teams

  • Manage succession planning for key roles

Stakeholder Communication

  • Represent the organization to board members, investors, regulators, and partners

  • Lead high-impact negotiations

  • Communicate company direction to internal teams at scale

Transformation & Change Management

  • Drive company-wide transformation initiatives (digital, operational, cultural)

  • Lead during crises or market shifts

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate standards

Requirements

  • 10–20+ years of progressive leadership experience

  • Extensive experience managing senior-level teams

  • Strong financial, operational, and strategic planning capability

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred (not always required)

  • Proven track record of executive-level achievement
