Job Description
The Role: As an RN in the Acute Care Unit, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care plans, as well as administering medications and performing diagnostic tests.
Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans by the healthcare team's policies and procedures.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to provide accurate patient assessments.
Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and medical history.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and revise patient care plans.
Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and preventative care measures.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on healthcare trends and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your current province.
Minimum 15 months of acute care nursing experience.
BLS certification required.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
