Job Summary
The Overnight Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and related areas during the overnight shift. This role focuses on deep cleaning of equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas to ensure the kitchen is safe, hygienic, and ready for the next day’s operation, in compliance with health and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, including prep tables, counters, shelves, and sinks.
Deep clean kitchen equipment (exterior of ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, dish machines, etc.) according to procedures and safety guidelines.
Sweep, scrub, and mop kitchen and dish room floors; clean baseboards, floor drains, and corners.
Clean walls, doors, stainless-steel surfaces, and other high-touch areas in the kitchen and back-of-house.
Break down, clean, and reassemble dish machines and small equipment as assigned.
Empty trash and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas; clean and sanitize trash rooms and bins.
Clean and organize storage areas, including dry storage and walk-in coolers/freezers (exterior surfaces and floors, no food handling unless trained).
Follow chemical handling and dilution instructions, using proper PPE at all times.
Report any maintenance issues, equipment problems, or safety hazards to the supervisor or Night Manager immediately.
Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed according to nightly checklists and deep-clean schedules.
Lock and secure designated areas after cleaning, as instructed by management.
Work quietly and respectfully to avoid disturbing any guests or staff on property.
Perform other related cleaning and support duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
