The Role: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Daycare - Outpatient Clinic, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing day surgeries and minor surgical procedures. You will play a pivotal role in pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative recovery to ensure a safe and seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and coordination of day surgical procedures, including patient education, positioning, and maintaining a sterile field.

• Monitor and document patient vital signs, responses to anesthesia, and recovery progress.

• Provide post-operative care, including managing pain, assessing for complications, and preparing patients for discharge.

• Educate patients and their families about post-surgical care instructions, medications, and follow-up appointments.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

• Ensure adherence to infection control standards and maintain a sterile, safe environment throughout the care process.

• Participate in pre-operative assessments, including health history and preparation checks.

Requirements:

• Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Canada, preferably in an outpatient surgical setting.

• ACLS and BLS Certifications.

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and outpatient recovery protocols.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to multitask and provide care in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated commitment to compassionate and efficient patient care.
