The Role: As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) in the ICU, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care by assessing, treating, and managing respiratory disorders in critically ill patients. You will work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans, advocate for patient care, and ensure optimal respiratory health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Provide respiratory therapy treatments, assessments, and interventions for ICU patients.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitor and document patient progress and response to respiratory treatments.
Administer advanced respiratory support, including mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy.
Educate patients and families on respiratory care and management.
Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and treatments.
Requirements:
Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist program and training.
Valid Respiratory Therapist license.
Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with ICU or acute care experience preferred.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
