Work Hours: This role follows a 4x10 schedule, Monday to Thursday, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM CST (Houston, TX) with a 30-minute lunch break. If a 1-hour lunch is preferred, the shift extends to 4:30 PM CST. Workdays may change if necessary.

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with strong experience in API integrations to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and data models. This role will focus on pulling data from APIs and other data sources, transforming it into meaningful insights, and delivering high-quality reports to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models

• Integrate data from REST APIs, web services, and third-party platforms into Power BI

• Use Power Query (M) and DAX to transform, model, and optimize data

• Automate data refreshes and ensure data accuracy and performance

• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into analytics solutions

• Document data sources, transformations, and reporting logic

• Troubleshoot data, performance, and refresh issues

• Support governance, security, and best practices for Power BI deployments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3+ years of experience working with Power BI

• Strong experience consuming and working with APIs (REST/JSON/XML)

• Proficiency in Power Query (M) and DAX

• Experience with data modeling and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.)

• Understanding of authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, tokens)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Logic Apps)

• Familiarity with Python or PowerShell for data extraction and automation

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance tuning in Power BI

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
