Job Description

The Role: As an LPN in the Operating Room (OR) Unit, you will deliver exceptional post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. You will monitor patient conditions, assist in pain management, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and safe recovery process.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care throughout the patient’s surgical experience.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of supplies, instruments, and equipment in the OR.
  • Accurately document patient care and assist in managing inventory, including monitoring and charging for supplies.
  • Identify and address risks to patient safety, taking action to minimize or eliminate them.
  • Stay updated with healthcare practices through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery instructions.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Practical Nursing program.
  • Current, unrestricted LPN license in your province.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
