Job Description

Pouch Line Operator

The Pouch Operator ensures accurate setup and operation of the Pouch line for the production of various pouch products.

Shift: Regular shift being M-F 11pm-730am

Training period:

Week 1: M-F 7am - 7pm to train with the dayshift Operator

Week 2: M-F 7pm - 7am to train with the afternoon shift Operator

Week 3: M-F 11pm-730am on onwards.

 

 

Job Duties: 

·      Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing processes. 

·      Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the Pouch line including starting the machine, engaging the feed, operation, monitoring and adjustment of control and troubleshooting equipment andprocesses to ensure products comply with production standards.

·      Completes first offs as per technical specifications.

·      Completes changeover as per standard.

·      Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.

·      Removes finished products from the machine, places product labels, packs items in bags and cartons, and places finished products in proper location as per specifications. 

·      Performs advanced quality checks, including inspecting and measuring completed pieces, and effectively communicates with supervisor and/or quality specialist to ensure that finished products are made to required quality specifications.

·      Records quality and production metrics via various methods and within time deadlines as necessary.

·      Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required.

·      Always maintains a clean work environment including maintaining 5S standards.

·      Provides clear and precise instructions, to assistants/helpers, if assigned.

·      Minimizes work-center’s downtime by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior tochangeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.

·      Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

·       High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

·       2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.

·       Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.

·       Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required

·       Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.

·       Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis

·       General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork

·       Effective interpersonal skills

·       Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis onsafety and injury prevention

·       Inventory experience preferred
