We are preparing for upcoming contract opportunities with a provincial government agency. These roles involve document scanning and document/records handling in records management environment, with assignments lasting up to few weeks occurring multiple times throughout the year, through March 2028.
Purpose of Position
To accurately transfer data from source documents or images into database systems
To support the processing of tax returns and remittances as part of a high-volume processing team
Duties & Responsibilities
Enter client data from source documents and images using a computer
Verify that images are correctly categorized; re-categorize if needed
Perform quality checks on captured images to ensure legibility and legality
Update client data by adding, replacing, or deleting information in systems
Secure documents and lock storage cabinets daily; log off and secure terminals when not in use
Provide feedback during testing of new or updated data entry applications
Assist Team Leader by guiding new or temporary staff on work procedures
Support processing of tax returns and remittances, including document review and cheque validation
Sort and batch mail for imaging; prepare control sheets as per standard procedures Identify potential threats in documentation and follow protocols immediately
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge Required
Use of interactive computer terminals and data entry systems
Familiarity with OS2, Windows, MS Office, and related software
Understanding of tax remittance and payment processing procedures
Knowledge of cheque negotiability rules and clerical best practices
Arithmetic skills for batch count accuracy and record tracking
Skills Required
Typing speed of 10,000 keystrokes/hour with <1% error rate
Ability to type for 5+ hours per day on a computer terminal
Attention to detail and document classification skills
Ability to identify and flag image/document issues
Analytical thinking for workflow decisions and cheque review
Comprehension of written and verbal instructions
Communication skills for issue escalation and team coordination
Sound judgment for threat identification and escalation
Ability to work as part of a team with professionalism and courtesy
