The Role: As an RN in Telemetry, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with cardiac and medical conditions, ensuring early detection of changes in their health status through telemetry systems.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment to identify any irregularities or changes in patient conditions.
Perform thorough assessments and monitor vital signs, implementing appropriate interventions as needed.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
Document patient care, observations, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
Respond promptly to any alarms or critical changes in patient status, ensuring timely interventions.
Maintain a safe and sterile environment in accordance with infection control, safety protocols, and quality care standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Telemetry, Cardiac, or Step-Down settings.
BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and NRP certifications are assets.
Strong ability to interpret telemetry readings and identify changes in cardiac rhythms.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and excellent time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate in a team-based care environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
