The Role: The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room/Acute Care unit plays an essential role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, acute setting. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, swift responses to critical situations, and effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional care and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct patient care in alignment with established policies, procedures, and best practices.
Perform thorough patient assessments to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans.
Administer medications, monitor patient status, and support various medical procedures as necessary.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and interventions.
Respond quickly to emergencies, delivering appropriate, evidence-based interventions.
Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols consistently to ensure patient and staff safety.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Active, unrestricted RN license within the current province.
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an emergency room or acute care setting.
ACLS and CTAS certifications.
Proficient in handling high-pressure situations with sound judgment and efficiency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex and emergent care scenarios.
