If you have already completed and hold valid OPS-recognized French-language proficiency results (oral and written), please apply with your existing results for consideration in place of re-testing

Communication and Customer Service Skills

  • You demonstrate professionalism in responding to calls, addressing visitors, and de-escalating sensitive situations

Organization, Research, and Judgement Skills

  • Experience working in or supporting executive offices or senior government officials
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling inquiries and escalations

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of cabinet roles, and executive-level processes

  • Ability to manage shared calendars, room bookings, and basic electronic record keeping

How Bilingual Skills Will Be Evaluated

To ensure readiness for a bilingual OPS role, candidates will be assessed through:

  • A requirement to successfully complete an OPS-standardized French-language proficiency test, which includes both oral and written assessments at the Advanced level
  • Candidates with prior valid results may be exempt from retesting at the ministry’s discretion
